There's a couple reasons I like being a "wedding photographer".
For one I get to go all over Oklahoma City. I've been in every corner and all over OKC's nicest facilities like the State Capitol, OU's Campus, the top of Bank One (our tallest building) and the finest country clubs around.
For Seconds; the people. I get invited to the happiest day of people's lives and am requested to take pictures of the celebration. They even pay me to do this. And it's not just the Bride and Groom - it's e v e r y b o d y. I love meeting big families, small families, little kids, hot young single bride's maids, and weird uncles. But my favorite people at weddings are probably the caterers. They're the most interesting to watch and usually the most cool to talk to.
The third is the food. I've shot Jewish weddings, Muslim weddings, a Vietnemese wedding Protestant, no-religions at all, a Dave Matthews Band themed wedding, and an African American wedding. But all these people have different delicious food and of course, I eat it.
Oh yeah...and these Weddings...they're payin' the bills too. =)
In summary, because I actually went to college for a few years and remember you have to sum up what you've written. So, even though I don't like the title "Wedding Photographer" and you'll never catch me saying that in public, I do like going to weddings and taking pictures cuz of the different locations, the people, and most definetly the food.
On another note; Jimmy's Egg on Sundays with friends is great as always. It's weird, I looked around the table today and realized I wasn't friends with these people 6 months ago. And now - I see 'em almost every day.
That's all for now. Time to go throw the frisbee.
Peace,
-marc
